HAIR 100% SILICON FREE?

The phrase "Remy Hair" It has become more of a marketing tool than something that actually shows a sign of high quality hair.

With every supplier that claims their hair is Remy, how do you do it? in reality know?

A Hair & Compounds, we have a research laboratory which we use from time to time to help businesses industry to determine complaints e authenticity of the human hair they buy.

Almost all the distributors and producers out there claim to have Remy hair extensions, but very few do.

Unfortunately, there is no regulation to tell hair extension suppliers the truth.

Case study: how we determine Remy or not

Recently, a new customer requested to analyze some Remy hair extensions purchased by another company claimed the hair was 100% virgin Remy virgin human hair.

He had spent a lot of time and money with the company and it was frustrated with the complaints he received from his customers.

We took her to the lab so that she could see us preparing the filaments for microscopic analysis e see evidence for herself.

The first step it was establishing a baseline - something we know is a lock of natural hair. So, we asked her to pull a strand of hair out of her scalp to examine it.

How Remy's hair should look

The Second step it is examining the roots, the central tree and the ends of the hair fiber. This is to check if the hair is really Remy from the root to the tip.

It is quite normal that the cuticles are missing or worn near the ends of the hair, but thick and healthy near the roots.

We captured an image of the hair fiber around the central tree with a magnification of 3500 and, as you can see in the image below, there are cuticles (scales) in normal conditions.

How Remy's hair should look

Using the same magnification, the third step it is for example the sample of extensions of the average brown hair presumably Remy even at about half of the hair shaft.

The absence of cuticles it was obviously obvious.

Sometimes, when treating treated hair, some layers of cuticles are usually found.

This lock of hair was so completely undressed that we could see deep cuts in the endocuticle.

Non-Remy

This lock is a great example of Non Remy hair extensions commonly sold through many brands.

In the upper part of the photo the light reflects on the coating that sporadically covers the hair.

This type of coating mimics shine and smoothness, but when you wash away you stay with the real face of the hair.

Although the cuticles were chemically removed from the lock of hair, it will still be a tangle due to the roughened fractured condition of the wires.

Without any cuticle to protect this hair will quickly become dull, dry and break with each brushing.

Although this client already suspected she was betrayed, having the evidence before his eyes helped her to understand that labels can lie .

How does the hair look? Not Remy?

The fractured edges are a result of brushing, combing and other mechanical forces.

The spots and eyelids on the cuticles are hair care treatment residues.

In some areas it appears that the cuticle layers are almost welded together, which is common with both accumulation of conditioner and / or hair spray.

In addition to some cosmetic and basic atmospheric agents, it is very normal cuticle hair that is often styled.

Conclusion:

The more you know, the better you can make decisions

The customer in our history was shocked but with his new knowledge, he felt better prepared in choosing a supplier.

He asked to see our hair under the microscope, to which we are happily obliged, since we know this is the just a foolproof way to check if your hair is Remy or not.
